Step by Step Procedure to apply SID Online

SID ( Seafarers Identification Document) will be compulsory very soon by all Shipping Companies for all Seafarers.

No SID , No joining of ship will happen some day. Why are you waiting

Anyone who has Indian CDC and Passport can get BSID.

Following MMD or Shipping Master office below center.

  1. Mumbai
  2. Kolkata
  3. Chennai
  4. NOIDA ( Delhi)
  5. Mangalore
  6. Goa
  7. Kandla
  8. Kochi
  9. Vizag

Documents required for SID:

  • Indian Passport
  • Indian CDC

Proceedure:

NOTE: Before apply, Please check your DGS Profile details data are in order and correct and if any correction pls correct before apply.

  1. Log into http://dgshippingbsid.in using your user id and password (It’s the same what you use for logging into your profile)
    User id is Indos No.
  2. Before proceeding you must read the general instructions and collect the required documents.
  3. Click on the Link “Apply for SID”
  4. Check the personal details in the form and click to continue.(Most of the data comes automatically and u need to verify the same
  5. If data not comes automatically thn first update your DG profile
  6. Fill the address details and click continue
  7. Varify all the details before Submit the application.when all in order submit application.
  8. After that Pay the fees online (300 INR). Avoid Visa debit card(sometimes there are some issues with payment gateway)
  9. After paying the fees , u need to wait for 1-2 working days for the payment to reflect in DG website. (Don’t pay the fees again).
  10. After payment gets reflected ,than click on take appointment and there u will see all the slots available for all MMD’s.
  11. Click on “Schedule Appointment” on the screen to schedule an appointment.
  12. Select the collection center along with the date and time from the slots available.
  13. Your application would be transmitted online to the verification officer, who will check the application.
  14. Once u book the appointment , take the print out of the acknowledgment and also take print out of the application letter .
  15. Within 10 days of submission of application, you will receive a notification on the verification result of the application through an e-mail and SMS.
  16. If you wish to reschedule your confirmed appointment (after payment of fee), same can be done do so for maximum two more occasions (excluding the first appointment). If you reschedule your appointment for more than two occasions, then you will have to pay the fee again. In other words fee once paid is valid only for three appointments.
  17. Visit the MMD at the scheduled appointment day atleast 10-15mins earlier with the application form, the acknowledgement, Original Passport and CDC.Data capturing personnel,after examining your documents would return the same and capture your bio metric data i.e You will have to sign on a digital pad and after that they will take your photograph with their own camera and that’s it. Job done.
  18. Check website and it will show that documents verified and sent for SID generation.Seafarers Identity Document would be issued and printed.
  19. Same shall be dispatched by speed post within a month.

NOTE : One problem you may face whilst filing the application is payment not reflecting in the system.
