New MEO Class 4 Examination Procedure

MEO CLASS 4

The following article contains the MEO CLASS 4 examination procedure for graduates, who have taken GME entry into the merchant navy. GME is an entry into the merchant navy, after completion of BE in mechanical engineering from an AICTE-approved college.

PRE-ASSESSMENT COURSES

After completing your onboard training of acquiring, a minimum of 120 days of propulsion, candidates should appear for the following courses.

  • PSCRB
  • MEDICAL FIRST AID
  • ENGINE ROOM SIMULATION (OPERATION LEVEL)
  • ADVANCE FIRE FIGHTING.
  • HIGH VOLTAGE

The total cost of these courses will amount to around 25k to 30k. These courses are mandatory, in appearing for the class 4 part- B assessment.

MEO CLASS 4 CHECKLIST

 

Every MMD provides a checklist, which contains the prerequisite documents, required for appearing MEO class 4 Part- B assessment. Part-A is exempted for GME candidates. Once you have acquired all the documents and certificates required for attention Class 4 Part- B assessment, We then need to create an account through the e-pariksha portal http://220.156.188.226/CREBS/Authentication/Login

Candidates need to create a username and password on the e-pariksha login page. Once you have created an account, all activities regarding examination seat booking, results, and fee payment will be done through your e-pariksha account. By logging in to the e-pariksha account, we need to enter our personnel detail.

We need to pay the assessment fee of Rs 3000 through the e-pariksha account and generate our e-pariksha form.

This amount of Rs 3000 is the fee for the class 4 part-B assessment. After fee payment, the candidate will be allotted a date. On this date, for verification purposes, candidates need to bring all the original documents as per given in the assessment checklist.

Class 4 part-B assessment is the verification procedure conducted by MMD, to check whether candidates have all the required original documents for appearing in MEO CLASS 4 EXAMINATION.

FORM 29

This form must be filled out completely and must be carried on the date of attending the assessment at MMD. While filling out this form, it is better to ask for assistance from the MMD staff. POST ASSESSMENT

 

After assessment verification is done at the concerned MMD. Candidates must book the slot for 6 written and 4 orals, through the e-pariksha login page. Candidates need to check every day, whether slots are opened by logging into their e-pariksha account.

The fee for one written paper will be Rs 1000 and the fee for one oral paper will be Rs 1000. In total it will cost Rs 10,000 for all 6 written papers and 4 oral papers.

Oral papers

  1. COSCPOOL – Oral Examination (Controlling Operation of Ship and Care for Persons Onboard at Operational Level, Function-3)
  2. MEOL – Oral Examination (Marine Engineering at Operational Level, Function-4b)
  3. EECEOL – Oral Examination(Electrical Electronics and Control Engineering at Operational Level, Function-5)
  4. MROL – Oral Examination (Maintenance and Repair at Operational Level, Function-6)

Written paper

  1. Marine Electro Technology
  2. Marine Engineering Knowledge (Motor)
  3. Marine Engineering Knowledge(General)
  4. Marine Engineering Practice
  5. Ship Construction & Stability
  6. Ship Safety and Environmental Protection

Each written paper will be conducted on separate days, which are conducted offline and consists of descriptive-type questions. Before the written exam was conducted online with objective type questions. The results of the written paper will be published by next month in our e-pariksha account. And all 4 oral papers will be conducted on a single day.

For orals, an external examiner and internal examiner will assess your knowledge. They will check our ability to express, our practical experience, in front of them. The results of the oral paper will be known on the same date as the oral examination. Admit cards will be provided for attending the examination, through an e-pariksha account.

Once you have cleared all 10 papers. You will get a link for the COC application in your e-pariksha account. You need to fill out the application, upload the required documents and submit by paying a fee of Rs 3000. Your MEO Class 4 COC will be delivered to your house address within 2 weeks.
